But lately, I’m learning to see rest differently — not as laziness, but as an intentional pause before the next season begins. A chance to fully heal, reset, and recover before chasing the next challenge with everything I have.

There’s a time for the grind, for pushing limits, for training hard and racing hard… but it’s not every day or every season of life. The pause after a demanding season — whether from running, racing, motherhood, or just life itself — is often what prepares us best for what’s ahead.
This season has reminded me that recovery is productive too. Rest creates strength. Healing matters. And slowing down can be just as purposeful as moving fast.

We’re especially grateful for my parents, who have made this season of intentional rest so much easier. From entertaining a toddler, burping babies, feeding us, and loving us so well — they’ve truly been the MVPs this past month. ❤️

Today, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for this precious blessing and the beautiful way his story began.

40 weeks-and still going. This week looked a lit 40 weeks-and still going.

This week looked a little different: lots of walks, plus 3 runs mixed in. Runs: 3 miles, 2 miles and a 1 mile. A tweaked ankle cut Sunday short, but I still squeezed in a quick mile under a 9-minute pace. Not gonna lie—it felt like a serious push for such a short effort… especially carrying around this permanent rucksack.

Keeping movement steady as we patiently await the arrival of this little one🤍
